RADIO

I've been working with music for the past 8 or so years now. I started as a bedroom DJ, which then progressed onto Mobile DJing.

Coming from a musical background (My dad was a Mobile DJ and Hospital Radio Presenter, and my mum was a club DJ) I decided that Hospital Radio was where I should start. I did apply to a few Hospital Radio stations however only one responded, which is where I am now!

I helped Goodmayes Hospital Radio launch live on the internet in June of 2006 teaming up with Michael Blades. This would lead to some brilliant radio shows in the future. After a successful launch I continued with my regular Thursday evening show (between 18.00 and 20.00) originally called "Dr Rick's Road to Recovery". I was very lucky to interview John Motson OBE on one of my very first shows.

It was during the latter part of the year that Michael and I decided to start where we left off, and so "Micky&Ricky's Saturday Wake Up" was born. (Although before Michael left for university this show ended up on Thursday and Friday nights!).

January 2007 saw a new image for my show, gone was Dr Rick (it didn't work for Foxy either!) and in was Ricky Moore. However the show name remained the same.

In March 2007 I was elected as Public Relations Officer for Goodmayes Hospital Radio and also elected to the post of Programme Coordinator (to cover Michaels imminent departure to Leeds University).

In April 2007 Goodmayes Hospital Radio had its own place in the record books. The first 24 hour broadcast by them - LIVE! Michael and I teamed up to raise money for three worthy charities: Goodmayes Hospital Radio, The Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research UK, and Whizz-Kidz. We had guests throughout the 24 hours (even at 2am!) and managed to raise around £1,200.

The Road to Recovery is still going, every Thursday between 18.00 and 20.00 and the Saturday wake up makes regular appearances when Michael is back from University.

in March of 2008 I was elected Station Manager of The Jumbo Sound, which is a fantastic achievement!
